Curriculum highlights

Hello Safari family .

We introduced our new theme for the week, Farm animals. We started off with some animal vocabulary and picture reading. They are most familiar with the animal sounds so they tried their best to identify the animals. They also had the chance to fix the animal puzzles as well enhancing their memory skills.

On Wednesday, We made our very own animal crafts. Having them choose from a range of farm animals like pigs, sheep, ducks or cows. Giving them a variety helps them to understand they always have an option and helps them to discover what they like for the week.

On Thursday, we had animal shadowing matching and farm house missing dots. So for these particular activities, they had to match the animals to their shadows. This helps with their recognition skills and ability to tell the different animal shadows. They also had to carefully peel off each sticker and place it on the dots. This helps with their spatial skills which are essential when they venture into writing.

On Friday, we finished the week with an activity around the farm. They had to feed the horses grass and milk the cows. At the same time trying to figure out which animal gives us what? Like a chicken lays eggs. or a cow gives milk.

 We had an interesting week!
