Week 12th - June 26th, 2026

Hello, Jungle Class families!

Morning & Afternoon Meeting

It was a short and delightful week to learn and grow again in school. We started singing good morning songs , months of the year, seasons song, and weather song. It was followed by checking our calendar time, assigning class jobs, doing a movement song and sharing about our whereabouts through our Class Dojo photos. In addition, this week we also had our Earthquake drill followed by Stranger Danger seminar to help us gain more awareness of our environment and keeping is informed and safe at all times! Our little learners were certainly learning well and having a great time with their friends throughout the week!

In the afternoon, we ended our day by reading a storybook and singing a goodbye song. We will resume our Show and tell next week too. Stay tuned!

Language & Literacy

Pre-K

This week, we kickstarted our lesson through lots of engaging and fun activities to review our phonics and sight word knowledge. First, we read our Raz-Kids book entitled, "Amazing Caves" , talked about the pictures and the words in the book and did a related worksheet afterwards such as phonics. Then, we learned about our literacy lessons. These are the activities that we did: Short Vowel review game, boom, Clap, Snap Vowel Game, Spelling Time Paired Activity and doing some related worksheets . We also learned a new sight word "like "this week through a song and did a sight word worksheet right and our favorite songs: matman, on,in,under , by and vowel songs. Last, we continued using our different booklets to hone our writing and reading or blending skills throughout this term. This booklet is individualized and self-paced activity wherein, once they finish it, hey move to next colored booklet like a "level-up game" for them to keep them motivated and challenged as well.

Regarding literacy this week, we continued reading our razkids book, taking time to identify short vowels, nouns, and verbs on each page. We also dialed in on studying prepositions, learning many new words to enrich our articulation skills, such as near, far, between, next to, in front of, behind, close to, etc. Following our reading of the book we played some games that further polished our ability to pronounce and read short vowels, new vocabulary words, and site words. We also spent significant time covering numerous digraphs and writing sentences.

Maths

Pre-K

This week, we reviewed on comparing same sets through counting the objects in each set. Then, we talked about Object-Function Matching wherein students learned to identify the object, understand its function or use , and place it to where it belongs. We used common objects in the classroom and at the kitchen as an introduction, had an interactive game, and created a 2D house wherein they cut various pictures found at home and decide its function and location.

Regarding math, we focused on sharpening our subtraction and addition skills with some fun songs and crafts. We worked with numbers exceeding 20 and completed numerous activities that saw us complete addition and subtraction based equations. Some of our crafts included making a smart phone in which we chronologically ordered numbers 20-30 and decorated with cute app icons. We also made a snail craft that included connecting the dots with numbers from 0-30 and then solving an addition and subtraction double digit equation. We also had fun completing our booklets as our jungle friends eagerly and competitively work their way through them.

Topic Exploration

For Topic time we learned about water sports. We explored an abundance of water sports, starting with water polo. We studied water polo through role play, as we hosted our own game in the big room where we set up goals and acted as if we were floating in water as we passed a ball and scored. We also spent time making crafts, including attaching our faces to swimming poses that referenced scuba diving, making a collaborative ocean-themed poster that included all of our jungle friends as scuba divers. Our Jungle Friends also had fun making surfers out of sponges, fluffy wire, and a big tub of water. To conclude our week, we role-played kayaking by making our own oars and hosting a simulation in which we sat in our chairs to act as boats and used our oars to row. It was a wonderful week full of fun adventures and activities!
