Theme of the week : All about myself
Important reminders :
As we begin, here are a few important reminders to help our days run smoothly:
• Please log in to Class Dojo every morning for updates, and important announcements.
• Kindly label all of your child’s belongings (clothes, bottles, bags, lunch bags, cutlery etc.) to avoid any mix-ups.
• Ensure your child brings extra clothes and diapers, so they stay comfortable throughout the day.
Curriculum highlights
Hello Safari family .
We started the week with a fun morning assembly. A morning Assembly is done once a month and it entails our character trait for the mum. We learnt about being inquirers, so when you hear our little adventures asking some questions, please be sure to answer them. Learning can be done everywhere.
On Tuesday, we made a portrait of ourselves. As our toddlers are getting older, they are discovering a sense of self. This will help them know who they are becoming and nothing beats a portrait activity to see who you are now. They decorated the portraits however they deemed necessary.
On Wednesday, we had a fun face fix up activity. Getting to know about ourselves means getting to know what we have on our faces and trying to put them together. This was really interesting to see them try and piece up each part in the right spot.
On Thursday, we had a numeracy activity. Trying to count : how many eyes? how many years do we have? Beginning an awareness of number recognition and no longer making it an abstract count. They were picking numbers at random but the good thing is every student had numbers of their own.
On Friday, as a way of starting our sharing journey, we decided to do a group activity. This is to help our Safari friends that we can all coexist together, doing the same piece of work and not having to keep it to yourself. I'm glad to say this actually worked and they were enjoying the coloring together. Well done!
