Week 17
Theme: Vegetables
Curriculum highlights
This week in Pond Class, we had lots of fun learning about vegetables, healthy food, and how plants grow!
On Monday, we started our week with our morning assembly. We listened to the story David Gets into Trouble and learned about being responsible for our choices.
On Tuesday, we explored different kinds of vegetables, such as carrots, bell peppers, and onions. We smelled them, touched them, and felt their different textures. After that, we had fun making bell pepper stamp art!
On Wednesday, we visited our school garden for the first time and learned how to plant. We planted some of the vegetables we explored earlier in the week and gave them soil and water to help them grow.
On Thursday, we made a cute carrot craft using our little feet and enjoyed playing with our favorite puzzles.
Then, on Friday, we went back to our garden to check on our plants. To our surprise, our Chinese cabbage had already sprouted new leaves! We were so excited to see them growing, so we gave them some more water.
We also welcomed a new friend, Otochan, to Pond Class! Our class is getting bigger and bigger, and we are so happy to have more friends to learn, play, and enjoy the outdoors with. What a fun and healthy week in Pond Class! Happy Weekend everyone!
