Hello, Jungle Class families!
Morning & Afternoon Meeting
It was a delightful week to learn and grow again in school. We started singing good morning songs , months of the year, seasons song, and weather song. It was followed by checking our calendar time, assigning class jobs, doing a movement song and sharing about our whereabouts through our Class Dojo photos. In addition, we also had our Morning Assembly with everyone in the Big Room and talked about how to be responsible through a storytelling. The book entitled, `David Gets into Trouble by David Shannon`. Our little learners were certainly coping well and having a great time with their friends throughout the week!
In the afternoon, we had our sharing time for our Class Dojo photos. They had so much stories to share every single day! What a wonderful time to listen to them speaking in English! Last, we ended our day by reading a storybook and singing a goodbye song.
Language & Literacy
Pre-K
This week, we began our lesson through lots of engaging and fun activities to review our phonics and sight word knowledge. First, we read our Raz-Kids book entitled, "Taking the bus" , talked about the pictures and the words in the book. Then, we recalled about our literacy lessons specifically our phonics, blending CVC words, and sentence comprehension. These are the activities that we did: singing our favorite literacy songs, Jolly Phonics ai, snail craft and phonics ai worksheet to hone their writing skills and muscle memory, and doing some related worksheets for review and mini assessment . We also learned a new sight word "big"this week through a song, played a *Spot the Sight Word game* and did a sight word worksheet. And last, we also did our Literacy booklet to keep us on track for phonics and some fine motor skills during our Journal time.

This week, we continued our studies with learning new sets of vowels, digraphs, and punctuation rules. We read our assigned Razkids book, "Getting around the City", and accompanied our reading with activities focused on identifying high frequency site words, comparing and contrasting nouns, and understanding vowels in the words we encountered. We capped our week off with making miniature cities with 3D buildings and new vocabulary words.
Maths
Pre-K
For this week, we talked and reviewed about Capacity. We expanded our words and defined it through different activities in the classroom. We learned: empty, very low, half full, nearly full , and full. These are the activities that we did: sang capacity song, comparing bottles through exploration, ordering capacity worksheet, and Capacity Water Play to apply what they have learnt and hone their practical skills through pouring and transferring liquids. This was their favorite part for this week! And last, we also did our number booklet to keep us on track for numeracy.
Kinder
For this week, we learned about time by studying all the aspects of a analogue clock in order to effectively learn how to read/tell time. We became able to identify the minute and hour hand, and how PM and AM are read and applied in our daily lives. We learned new songs, completed crafts in which we made our own clocks, and played games using physical individual clocks to test our knowledge!
Topic Exploration
For Topic Exploration we studied land vehicles this week. We learned about which vehicles are used for which specific situations and how they all interact with the terrains found in our daily lives. We made an array of crafts ranging from personalized vehicles, 3D large-scale cars done in a collaborative setting, and more. Alongside our crafts, we hosted sensorial-based stations to allow our students to physically interact and understand how vehicles move and react to terrains. We also role-played in the big room as we hosted physical games that saw us imitate police cars, skateboards, etc.
