Hello, Jungle Class families!

Morning & Afternoon Meeting

Welcome back to school, everyone!  Everyone was undoubtedly filled with so much excitement, eagerness, and enthusiasm to learn and play in school. Our fWe started singing good morning songs , months of the year, seasons song, and weather song. It was followed by checking our calendar time, assigning class jobs, doing a movement song and sharing about our whereabouts through our Class Dojo photos. Hooray for our first week at our new school!

Language & Literacy

Pre-K

This week, we kickstarted our lesson through lots of engaging and fun activities to review our phonics and sight word knowledge. First, we read our Raz-Kids book entitled, "It Is School Time" , talked about the pictures and the words in the book. Then, we recalled about our literacy lessons specifically our phonics, blending CVC words, and sentence comprehension. These are the activities that we did: singing our favorite literacy songs: Mat Man song, vowel song, phonics song, interactive games, and fun phonics activities . We also learned a new sight word "down "this week through a song and did a sight word worksheet right , interactive games and activities including their favorite BINGO!

Throughout the week we studied interrogative sentences in order to familiarize ourselves with how to properly use question marks. We also reviewed how to identify nouns and verbs, alongside working on refining our handwriting. We read a book called, "At the Beach" throughout the week to apply all of the aforementioned subjects to our lessons. We ended the week with a fun craft, making a beach bag and filling it with fun beach essentials like sunglasses, beach ball, etc.

Maths

Pre-K

For this week, we also had a review week about numbers, length, and patterns specifically identifying numbers, sequencing activity through a snake chain craft, pattern game, number writing and coloring activities. We would like to gradually get them excited and prepare their fine motor skills through including cutting, pasting, using playdough, and coloring activities.

For our first week of term 2 we reviewed skip counting. We started by using 2s and building our way up to 10s by the end of the week. We had a lot of fun completing some coloring activities, a few crafts, and even some physical movement games that replicated skip counting as we counted by a digit everytime we jumped.

Topic Exploration

For our first week back, we reflected on our eventful, fun summer as we discussed the places we went, the loved ones we saw, and the fun things we did. We also welcomed a new friend into our Jungle family, so these activities, games, and crafts offered ample opportunities to familiarize ourselves with each other! Our activities ranged from rhythm-based games, paintings, and personal trivia!

Free Play

Here are some more pictures of friends playing together in the classroom, in the Big Room, at the playground, and enjoying other topics, events and activities at school.
