Week 14
This week's theme: Pond Animals
Reminders
- Sunscreen (Please apply it before coming to school as we spend more time outdoors.)
- A complete set of spare clothes (If we send home any dirty clothes, please replace them with a clean set the following day so your child always has enough changing clothes at school.)
- Clearly labeled belongings (Please ensure all items, including new jackets, spoons, socks, and other personal belongings, are labeled with your child's name.)
Curriculum highlights
This week, we had so much fun exploring our classroom theme—Pond! We learned about some of the wonderful creatures that live in and around a pond, such as frogs, ducks, butterflies, and fish. Throughout the week, we enjoyed singing lots of pond-themed songs that helped us remember what we learned.
On Monday, we had a sensory activity where we explored the texture "soft" by feeling duck feathers. The children loved touching the fluffy feathers and learning a new describing word.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, we went fishing! Our little learners practiced counting from 1–5 while catching colorful fish and naming their colors, such as red fish, blue fish, and more. We also had a wonderful time singing "One Little Blue Fish" as we played.
On Thursday, it was time to get creative! Using our rubber duckies as painting tools, we made beautiful Pond Art, creating fun prints and exploring different ways to paint.
Finally, on Friday, we celebrated the beauty of butterflies. We decorated their colorful wings with bright stickers, creating unique butterflies while practicing our fine motor skills. On this day, we saw all our friends come to school happy and healthy too so we took this chance to take a class photo before Term 1 ends! Yay!
