Week 8 - May 29th, 2026

Hello, Jungle Class families!

Morning & Afternoon Meeting

It was a delightful week to learn and grow again in school. We started singing good morning songs , months of the year, seasons song, and weather song. It was followed by checking our calendar time, assigning class jobs, doing a movement song and sharing about our whereabouts through our Class Dojo photos. Our little learners were certainly coping well and having a great time with their friends throughout the week!

In the afternoon, we ended our day by reading a storybook and singing a goodbye song.

Language & Literacy

Pre-K

This week, we kickstarted our lesson through lots of engaging and fun activities to review our phonics and sight word knowledge. First, we read our Raz-Kids book entitled, "This tastes" , talked about the pictures and the words in the book and did a related worksheet afterwards such as phonics. Then, we learned about our literacy lessons. These are the activities that we did: Short Vowel Oo with Froggy the Frog activity , dog craft and short vowel e word crafts through cutting and pasting pictures, Letter formation through Mat man song, and phonics worksheet. We also had learned our new sight word: Look through a chant song and a worksheet. Last, we began using our different puzzles and booklets to hone our writing and reading or blending skills throughout this term. This booklet is individualized and self-paced activity wherein, once they finish it, hey move to next colored booklet like a "level-up game" for them to keep them motivated and challenged as well.

Kinder

Kinder focused on studying consonant blends (ee) and identifying high frequency words (like are, has, etc) alongside strengthening their ability to craft sentences. We accomplished this by playing games, making crafts, and completing numerous activities. This included reading our assigned razkids book and taking time to identify verbs, nouns, and consonant blends. Some games involved matching sight words which required us to be able to read them. We also had group projects, one of which saw us make a beautiful tree for our new Koala friend, Koko. We decorated the tree with sentences and apples with words containing the consonant blend we studied.

Maths

Pre-K

This week, we talked about measurement: Weight through songs, play-based and fun activities. We had various activities to hone our numeracy skills as well as our fine motor skills. These are the activities that we did for this week: Weight exploration activity using nonstandard and standard scales, comparing game, sorting and open-ended drawing activity of heavy and light activities and related worksheets. We also did our Math booklets too hone our numeracy and counting skills.

For mathematics, we continued to review numbers up to 20 alongside covering some strategies to help us solve number bond questions. Our lessons included making pixel coloring crafts in which we colored a pixelated photos upon matching numbers with colors. We also worked on completing rainbow and super-hero themed math booklets. In addition to our crafts and activities, we also played some new games, such as playing red light, green light in which we were required to solve additional problems in order to move/progress.

Topic Exploration

Throughout the week we explored the topic of our 5 senses, in which we learned about prominent sensations associated with our sense of touch, sight, hearing, smell, and taste. We made some crafts, learned new songs to sing along to, and played some games to enrich our studies. This included having a scavenger hunt to complete a 5 senses pictorial book, having stations dedicated to textures, and playing a Jeopardy-style game in which we blindfolded ourselves before couching various objects in order to guess what we felt based on texture, smell, and size. To cap off this exhilarating week of learning we made big posters of mouths with an abundance of food inside, visualizing the many different kinds of textures and tastes that are present within our daily lives, such as sour, sweet, spicy, etc. and crunchy, soft, creamy, etc.
