Week 6 - May 15th, 2026

Hello, Jungle Class families!

Morning & Afternoon Meeting

It was a delightful week to learn and grow again in school. We started singing good morning songs , months of the year, seasons song, and weather song. It was followed by checking our calendar time, assigning class jobs, doing a movement song and sharing about our whereabouts through our Class Dojo photos. This week too, we had our Morning Assembly led by our Safari teachers and explored a new character trait called, Thinkers. We had a color mixing experiment using primary colors and resulted to different colors! It was wondrously a colorful learning time! Our little learners were certainly coping well and having a great time with their friends throughout the week too!

In the afternoon, we had a delightful show and tells from our Red Group friends as we discovered the things that made them happy from plushies , toys and even popcorn case too! Moreover, we ended our day by reading a storybook and singing a goodbye song. Last Thursday too, we had a fire emergency drill wherein we evacuated and went downstairs while protecting ourselves. It was a fun-filled and meaningful week again for everyone!

Language & Literacy

Pre-K

This week, we kickstarted our lesson through lots of engaging and fun activities to review our phonics and sight word knowledge. First, we read our Raz-Kids book entitled, "My Body" , talked about the pictures and the words in the book and did a related worksheet afterwards such as phonics. Then, we learned about our literacy lessons. These are the activities that we did: Short Vowel Ee fishing activity , hen and short vowel e word crafts through cutting and pasting pictures, Letter formation through Mat man song, and phonics worksheet. Last, we began using our different booklets to hone our writing and reading or blending skills throughout this term. This booklet is individualized and self-paced activity wherein, once they finish it, hey move to next colored booklet like a "level-up game" for them to keep them motivated and challenged as well.

Kinder

This week, we spent time learning more about verbs, digraphs, nouns, and vowels. We worked on learning numerous strategies that will help us easily identify those aspects of the English language. We also study the consonant blend Tt and high frequency words including is, this, etc. We made many crafts (including a bullet train containing words with the consonant blends of Tt and Tr), worked through our booklets, and played some new games to enrich our studies.

Maths

Pre-K

This week, we talked about different shapes through songs, play-based and fun activities. We had various activities to hone our numeracy skills as well as our fine motor skills. These are the activities that we did for this week: Shapes Hunt activity around the school while introducing tally chart for counting exercises, making shapes using sticks and clay, pattern block shapes , and Make a Picture out of different shapes activities, and our Math booklets. We have also started using our drawing booklets that they can utilize anytime they want to hone their drawing skills and fine motor too.

Kinder

For Week 6, Kinder focused on sharpening their addition skills with practicing number bonds and utilizing a number line to simplify addition with bigger numbers. We used number blocks for creating number bonds, made some crafts (including a race car track that acted as a number line for us), played some games (physical activity-based games) and made more progress with our booklets (which includes some exposure to subtraction, skip counting, and identifying shapes).

Topic Exploration

For Topic time, we spent the week learning about our bodies. We covered numerous aspects of our bodily functions, such as how our hearts work, how our nervous system and 5 senses work, the purpose of our skeletons, and how we can manipulate our bodies to make sounds for the purpose of making music. We had fun making crafts, playing rhythm-based games, and completing group quizzes.

Free Play

Here are some more pictures of friends playing together in the classroom, in the Big Room, at the park, and enjoying other topics, events and activities at school. This also includes our Japanese lesson.
