Week 15 - July 15th, 2026

Hello, Jungle Class families!

Morning & Afternoon Meeting

It was a marvelous yet short week to learn and grow again in school. We started singing good morning songs , months of the year, seasons song, and weather song. It was followed by checking our calendar time, assigning class jobs, doing a movement song and sharing about our whereabouts through our Class Dojo photos. This Wednesday too was our last day for our Term 1 and had a mini celebration together in class!

In the afternoon, we ended our day by reading a storybook and singing a goodbye song.

Language & Literacy

Pre-K

It was a 2-day lesson week for our little one and so we culminated our Literacy time through an "Alphabet Parade" On the first day, our Pre-K friends made their alphabet costume out of construction paper, cutting pictures, and writing the words below. Then, on the alphabet parade with Kinder as their audience, they walked on a pretend platform and presented their chosen letter and pointed out the pictures that they have pasted.

As our week was brief, we took time to review all that we've learned this term by practicing our handwriting, reading books in groups, reviewing old and new digraphs, and playing educational games. It was a short, but productive and fun week!

For this week, we also had a review week about numbers specifically writing numbers from 1 to 20 and sequencing activity.

For our final week we reviewed numbers past 20, utilizing them in addition and subtraction based equations, greater than, less than, and equal to, shapes, and patterns. We incorporated these concepts into short storiesin order to provide a fun and expansive review of most of what we learned this term.

Topic Exploration and Last Day Party

Since it was our last week already for this term, we talked about the importance of our "Friends" through reading a book, decorating a puzzle piece, and "Pass the Message" game with everyone wherein, we whisper words like: "I am kind. I am gentle. We are kind in Jungle class" to our friends.

For our Last Day Party, we began with a morning meeting followed by a Freeze Dance song. Then, we made our own balls out of newspaper and origami paper that we used for our 3 games namely, Shoot the Ball, Ball in the Hole, and Tic-Tac-Toe. After trying each game, they get a sticker as a prize. Moreover, we gathered in a circle while holding our toy and sharing why our friends liked the toy that they brought. The goal of letting our students bring their favorite toy is to be able to learn how to share something that they love openly to others and confidently talk about it to them. Our friends were so wonderful as they shared with everyone happily. In the afternoon, we had a movie time with popcorn and fruit juices as we watched, "Hoppers" in English. We wrapped up our day with a story book and giving away their favorite origami stars and some balloons.
