Curriculum highlights
Hello Safari family .
We introduced our theme of flowers. We were admiring how beautiful flowers can get. We started off with an assembly where we talked about our character trait for the month - Thinkers. So we can help ask more questions and try problem solving as well. This will really help with their self help skills as well, as they try to figure out how they can wear their pajamas or shoes by themselves.
On Tuesday, we tried to fix our broken flowers and make a hand print flower activity as well. This was our first free painting activity and they seemed to enjoy printing their hands all over the paper.
On Wednesday, we ventured into gardening. We wanted to know how a flower starts its growing process. We planted some leaves and buried them as if they were flowers, the rest was just soil play for them.
On Thursday, we tried to fix a number 1 puzzle, which consisted of four pieces. Then we pasted small pieces of paper onto the number 1.
On Friday, we had the opportunity to play with play dough (Made from flour) and try to mold some flowers from it. They really enjoyed the texture as it was smooth and it didn't stick onto their hands. They did an amazing job for not trying to eat it.
